报告人简介:
Mark van Kleunen is Professor of Ecology at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He does basic and applied research in plant ecology. His research is guided by the basic questions of how phenotypic variation in functional traits is shaped by environmental and genetic variation, and by how these traits, biotic interactions and the abiotic environment determine the decline and spread of species, particularly in the light of global environmental change. To answer these questions, he uses a broad range of methods including macro-ecological data-base analysis, meta-analysis, and experiments in the greenhouse, garden and field. Dr van Kleunen received awards from the University of Zurich, the University of Bern and the 1000-Talents Program of the Zhejiang Province. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Zurich in the field of evolutionary ecology, and he did postdoctoral research in Switzerland, Canada, South Africa and Germany. He is currently also associated with Taizhou University.
报告内容简介:
Humans have changed the Earth's ecosystems to such an extent that we now live in the Anthropocene geological epoch. Nature and humanity now face multiple global environmental change drivers, like climate change, land-use change, different forms of pollution and biological invasions. In this presentation, I will report on some of the recent work from my group and collaborators on the effects of these global environmental changes for plants and the organisms they interact with.
