报告人简介:Kay McArdle is a Publisher of Geography, Planning and Development journals at Elsevier in Oxford, UK. She manages a portfolio of 20 academic journals in this disciplinary field. Kay's first degree was in Geography (Oxford University), and she also holds an MSc in Town Planning (Newcastle University). She travels frequently to conferences, workshops, symposia and other events around the world, and is always keen to meet new researchers, students and anyone interested in the subject! She is in China this October to attend the 'Ecological Wisdom for Urban Sustainability' symposium in Chongqing, sponsored by one of her journals, Landscape and Urban Planning. During this event, and in collaboration with the Co-Editor-in-Chief Professor Wei-Ning Xiang, she will be speaking about how you can get your work published in a journal.

报告简介:Publisher Kay McArdle will be visiting to talk to you about ‘How to Get Published’. The goals of this session are: to provide background information on academic publishing; to give advice about how to properly structure your article; and finally to explain the importance of using of proper scientific language in your manuscript. It outlines the various important steps that, as an author, you should follow in preparing your manuscript for a successful publication in an academic journal. In three short presentations, Kay will cover all the essential points you need to know in order to present your research clearly and effectively, and in a style appropriate to the standards expected by editors and publishers. The presentation is informal and relaxed, so feel free to bring your questions along!
